Player Development

Our mission at USTA Colorado is to support the growth of junior tennis players statewide.

USTA Colorado's Junior Development Pathway

We have re-defined the scope of the term ‘player development’ (PD) and as a result have expanded our reach to include those youngsters just picking up a racquet to those ready to enter college level play.

From the red ball, 36’ court to the national level athlete, from the purely recreational to the most competitive juniors, our goal is to provide various levels of competitive play, programming to enhance existing training, collaboration with personal coaches and parental support to assist young players in reaching their tennis playing goals.

We have a vast offering of junior tournaments, a very active and impactful school tennis program, THE most successful junior leagues program in the country (Junior Team Tennis), a newly introduced team competition format (3v3), multiple National Junior Tennis and Learning programs throughout the state as well as solid support of Colorado High School No-Cut tennis.

USTA Colorado staff and resources support all of these areas of PD as we actively look to meet the needs of all junior tennis players.

Our junior training programs (Early Development Camps, Team Colorado) have been created to mirror those hosted by USTA National — the Team USA approach. We insure the use of proper equipment based on player size and achieved competencies, incorporate athletics skills development, mental skills training, and technical and tactical on court instruction by qualified coaches.

USTA Colorado is committed to addressing the needs of every junior tennis player regardless of their long-term goals. Our ultimate objective is to help young players learn to love the sport of tennis — a sport for a lifetime.
