The Intermountain Summer Championship is the crown jewel of the Intermountain Section, drawing 450 juniors from across the six-state region to compete for advancement to national competition.

Colorado players fared very well in the 2014 Intermountain Summer Championships, as 9 of the 16 championship matches (BGsd 12/14/16/18) featured a local player. Ultimately, Colorado juniors captured six ISC championships and earned hardware in every division except one.
The ISC is one of two Level 3 events in the Intermountain Section.
The Championships began under ominous skies on Saturday but escaped largely unscathed from the threatening weather. The event suffered numerous rain delays on Sunday when matches were forced to move indoors, but dry weather returned for Monday and Tuesday and organizers were able to complete the schedule. A passing shower did force the suspension of a handful of matches on Championship Wednesday, but the draw was completed prior to the big storms that passed through the area later that afternoon.
