Tennis Center at Steamboat looking for High-Performance Tennis Coach

The Tennis Center at Steamboat Springs is currently seeking to hire a high-performance (HP) tennis coach. The HP coach works under the direction of the Tennis Center’s Leadership team to help design, organize, and deliver high quality tennis programming to clinic and camp participants. In addition to serving as a HP tennis coach, this position manages one or more clinics and/or camps and other revenue-generating initiatives.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide a tennis program that caters to all participants including, but not limited to, private lessons, group lessons, clinics, social tennis and free play.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of instructional plans.
  • Take charge and/or assist in on-court activities.
  • Be a role model in consistently showing a high level of respect to each participant, being conscious of equal treatment and attention, and promoting a sense of camaraderie and inclusiveness.
  • Bring a sense of enthusiasm, preparedness and commitment to ensure quality programming.
  • Participate in evaluations of programs and participants as needed.
  • Continuous monitoring of the health and safety of each participant, ensuring that they are kept to the highest standards both on and off the courts.
  • Primary responsibility for the maintenance, repair and security of The Tennis Center of  Steamboat Springs equipment and the satisfactory appearance of grounds to meet client expectations.
  • Work as part of a team to set up, break down, and pack up tennis equipment each day, and be proactive in providing assistance as needed to all participants using the equipment.
  • Assist with maintaining the tennis courts and common areas, keeping areas clean of trash, store equipment neatly and in an orderly fashion.
  • Adhere to all Tennis Center at Steamboat Springs policies and procedures.
  • Participate in all training and continuing educational activities as directed.
  • Attend staff meetings as directed.
  • Come to work dressed neatly and professionally, in appropriate tennis clothing.
  • Assist in the preparation and organization of tennis tournaments.
  • Promote and encourage student participation in all Tennis Center programs and events (NJTL, JTT, clinic parties/fundraisers, volunteer opportunities, etc.).
  • Participate in or volunteer for special events where the coaches’ presence or on court assistance is needed.
  • Exhibit a willingness to travel with The Tennis Center at Steamboat participants to tournaments and/or on trips.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  •  Competitive tennis play from collegiate play D1, D2 or 5.0 club level
  • Ability to manage groups effectively and efficiently
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to be a positive role model to participants
  • Demonstrated reliability and responsibility
  • PTR or USTPA  certification or ability to obtain in 6 months
  • Well-developed capacity to work effectively in a dynamic team setting with a diverse group of passionate people.

Northfield High School, the latest comprehensive high school to open in Denver Public Schools, began with 200 freshmen in 2015. As of 2018-2019, NHS will have all four classes with an estimated student body of 850 students. Colorado Athletic Club Monaco looking for a Tennis Director

CAC Monaco seeking a Tennis Director who will oversee the club tennis program, which includes developing, implementing, and marketing all club tennis programs for individuals and groups of all ages. Also recruit, hire and develop tennis department associates to ensure state of the art tennis instruction.

Qualifications: 1-3 years as Head Tennis Professional with prior supervisory/management experience. 10+ year’s tennis experience in competitive play and 5+ years teaching experience. Four year college degree preferred. Membership in either the USPTA or the USPTR organization. Excellent communication skills including oral, written and listening. Ability to motivate, organize and lead others to achieve objectives.

Additional Requirements: Private country club or tennis club experience a plus. Understanding of accounting and budget functions. Independent / innovative / entrepreneurial thinker. Outgoing/personable/friendly. Ability to work a flexible schedule.

Lakewood Park seeks instructors
Lakewood Park Tennis Center (LPTC) is experiencing growth and hiring multiple Tennis Professional positions. Started in 2015, LPTC is an 8 court public facility just a few miles from Denver(Kipling and Alameda). Going into its 4th year, LPTC is excited to share the growth of their up-and-coming club with these new positions. We are immediately looking to hire multiple enthusiastic, motivated Adult and Junior instructors to help with LPTC’s growing demand for group classes and private lessons. LPTC is part of three tennis clubs run by Hitman Sports Management (Gates Tennis Center in Denver and Pueblo Tennis Center). We are committed to helping you grow your clientele quickly; this is a unique opportunity to “hit the ground running”.

LPTC is open year round; and the position is full time through November. (Three winter months are typically part-time and hours vary with limited indoor opportunity.) Multiple in-season teaching positions available. Compensation is negotiable and depends on experience; commonly exceeds $1,200/week in-season.
